Terms of Service
Effective 11 May 2026· Operator: Lipa Health (“Lipa”, “we”, “us”)
- Lipa is information, not medicine. Educational support, not a doctor. Treatment decisions stay with you and your physician.
- You own your context. Delete it anytime. We never sell or train on your health data.
- You agree to be honest. Don’t share other people’s health information without permission. Don’t use Lipa to harm yourself or others.
- Subscriptions auto-renew. Cancel anytime in My Lipa; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- If something serious is happening, call 911 (US), 112 (EU), or your local emergency number. Lipa is not for emergencies.
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you (“you”) and Lipa Health regarding your use of lipa.health, my.lipa.health, the Lipa application, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Medical Disclaimer.
If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What Lipa is
Lipa is a personal health concierge: a conversational service that helps you understand bloodwork, prepare for doctor visits, organize your health record, and follow research relevant to your situation. Lipa is grounded in peer-reviewed sources, drug labels, and clinical guidelines.
Lipa is not a medical professional and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. See our Medical Disclaimer for details. The Service is informational and educational.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service for yourself. If you are managing the record of a minor under your legal custody or another adult who has given you informed consent (a “family member”), you may use the Family Record feature on a Concierge subscription. By adding a family member, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
The Service is not currently offered in jurisdictions where its content would require a medical device authorization or telehealth license that Lipa does not hold. If you access the Service from a jurisdiction where this is the case, you do so on your own initiative and you are responsible for compliance with local law.
4. Accounts and access
You can use Lipa anonymously for a single browser session. To save your context across devices and time, you provide an email address and verify it via a magic link. We do not require passwords. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the email inbox you use to access the Service.
You may have one personal account. You may add up to four family members on a Concierge subscription. Each family member has a separate record under your account.
5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds
Lipa offers free, paid one-time, and recurring subscription tiers. Current pricing is shown on lipa.health/membership.
- Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, as selected). You can cancel anytime from My Lipa or by emailing hello@lipa.health. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; you retain access until then.
- One-time purchases (e.g., Lipa One) grant access to a specific service and are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Refunds. If you cancel within 14 days of a new subscription and have not made meaningful use of the Service during that period, contact us for a full refund. After that period, refunds are at our reasonable discretion. EU consumers have additional statutory rights of withdrawal.
- Price changes. We may change prices for future renewals. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance via email; you may cancel before the change takes effect.
6. Your content and data
You own the content you share with Lipa — your conversation, uploads, edits to your context. You grant Lipa a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service for you (e.g., interpreting your bloodwork, generating responses, maintaining your context). This license ends when you delete your account.
We do not sell your data and do not use your conversations or health information to train artificial-intelligence models. See the Privacy Policy for full detail on how we handle your information.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Share health information about another person without their informed consent (or, for minors / dependents under your authority, in a way inconsistent with your duty to that person)
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security controls, or authentication
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying models, system prompts, or proprietary logic
- Use automated means to access the Service without our written permission
- Submit content that is defamatory, harassing, infringing, or that violates applicable law
- Use the Service to make decisions about another person’s employment, insurance, credit, or housing
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is.” Lipa, its officers, employees, and contractors disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Lipa does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components. Lipa does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any information generated by the Service.
For health-specific disclaimers, see the Medical Disclaimer.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lipa is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Lipa’s total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100).
Some jurisdictions, including some US states and EU member states, do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, consequential, or implied warranties, or limit liability for personal injury caused by negligence. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions and limitations in this Section 9 apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits any right that cannot be limited by law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lipa from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any right of another party (including, for family-member usage, the person whose record you are managing).
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from My Lipa or by emailing hello@lipa.health. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the Service or other users, or in cases of non-payment or extended inactivity.
On termination, the licenses granted to us end and we delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records for tax compliance).
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. For non-consumer disputes, the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction.
Before filing a claim, the parties agree to attempt good-faith informal resolution by sending written notice to hello@lipa.health and allowing thirty (30) days for the recipient to respond. This informal step is a condition precedent to any formal proceeding.
EU and EEA consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence and to invoke the mandatory consumer-protection rules of their country of residence, regardless of the choice of law above. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory right that cannot be waived under applicable law.
UK consumers retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales and to invoke applicable UK consumer-protection law.
14. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Medical Disclaimer, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lipa regarding the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
15. Contact
Questions about these Terms: hello@lipa.health.
